A “relative neophyte” to the world, Casey has had interest and exposure to wine from a very young age, leading him to pursue this passion at Cal Poly, where he majored in Wine and Viticulture, with a special focus in Oenology (wine making).

Born in Vicenza, Italy, Max was raised around the world as an Army brat until 1993 when his family settled in the desert foothills of Southern California. After completing college in the redwoods of UC Santa Cruz, Max continued up the coast, settling in San Francisco in 2005.
Max is completely won over by the Bay Area’s cosmopolitan food culture, and spends most evenings indulging this passion with good food and wine. He also attained a CSW and CSS (Certified Specialist of Wine and Certified Specialist of Spirits)

evan has been part of the Swirl family, hosting our wine bar since 2012. He is an actor, writer, director and creator of two solo plays: PANSY and Don’t Feel: The Death of Dahmer. His theatrical work has been featured in the SF Chronicle, SF Weekly and SF Bay Guardian.
He can also be found pouring lattés at Spikes Coffee and Teas in the Castro and hosting So You Think You Can Lap Dance? at Piano Fight, as his comedic drag character Martha T. Lipton.
His love of wine and spirits drew him to Swirl, and he’s really excited to continue learning and developing in this industry.

Raised between Costa Rica and Argentina, Hannah comes from a long line of winemakers, growers, and collectors. She first tried Malbec with her father on his vineyard in Mendoza, and realized her passion for the industry at a young age.
Hannah has lived in the U.S. since 2009, and fell in love with San Francisco’s wine and food culture the moment she arrived. With the goal of one day co-running her in-law’s restaurant, Hannah is currently studying for her Som. certification, drinking wines from around the world and loving every sip.
